A forest management plan is a guide to help the landowner achive their goals for their forestland. A forest management plan is usually required to participate in cost share programs and receive financial assistance for management activities.
Financial assistance is available through the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to have a forest management plan (CAP 106 plan) written for a landowners forestland. These plans are very detailed and must be developed by a certified technical service provider which is a service that we provide.
A forest management plan is often required for land to be classified as designated forestland. This designation can lower the annual property taxes paid by the landowner.
